High Pressure Sales Tactics

Reports have been received about false and misleading sales calls regarding WHMIS training.

There are still companies out there who make false and high pressure sales calls. These calls involve a sales person telling you that you need to either upgrade or
re-take health and safety training such as WHMIS or you will be fined.

They claim that there have been changes in the regulations and that your training is out of date. As a safety training provider, we are outraged that some companies are resorting to these unethical and deceitful sales strategies. It gives Health and Safety Training Providers a bad reputation.

Here at YOW Canada, we have received many calls from confused people who say they have received a call from a company saying they must re-take their WHMIS training due to a change in the regulations. These calls are misleading and false.

No changes have been made to the Occupational Health and Safety Act recently that would require employers to retrain their staff for WHMIS.
